*Polyhedra are simply known as regular solids.
Escher made many of his works to include polyhedra, whether as primary, secondary, or even background subjects. Platonic Solids are the only five polyhedra that have polygonal [similar] faces on each side. The five Platonic Solids are: -Tetrahedron (Four Triangle for face) -Icosahedron (Twenty triangle) -Cube (Six squares) -Dodecahedron (Twelve Triangle) -Octahedron (Eight Triangle)
You can easily stellate a Platonic Solid to make a more interesting figure. Stellate means to replace each face with a pyramid-making it more 3D or star-like.
